Opposition is growing to Wester Ross Salmon's plan to expand in Loch Kanaird near Ullapool on the West coast of Scotland. "If a salmon farm less than 1km from a river is not considered sensitive, then what is?" asked Jenny Scobie in The Press & Journal (29 May).

Salmon farms litter the Wester Ross region with six salmon farms within 38 km of the Ullapool River alone.
Jenny Scobie has been fighting for years to protect the Ullapool River from the threats posed by salmon farms including a legal complaint to the European Commission filed in 2011.
