As an Old Birkonian I am seriously alarmed that Birkenhead School is promoting Rick Stein as 'inspiring' in a talk tonight.

Would you be able to arrange a meeting with Rick before his talk tonight?  It would help save face if Rick could make a public pledge to stop sourcing farmed salmon from the Faroes and to sign into the UK petition.

 

As a pupil of Birkenhead School - I was fortunate to be taught by the Welsh rugby legend John Gwilliam - the desire for truth and justice was drummed into me at a young age.   Before leaving Birkenhead School in 1989 it was an honour to be a prefect, head of Davis's house and cross country captain.  I remember taking exams in Bushell Hall where Rick Stein is speaking tonight.  I would hate for Birkenhead School's good reputation to be dragged into the gutter along with Rick Stein.
