Meet the toxic team peddling 'organic' salmon pharming in Scotland - farmed off the Isle of Skye using the lobster-killing chemical Deltamethrin & owned by Dutch, Canadian & Norwegian investors. The public backlash against the scam that is 'organic' salmon farming is featured in today's Mail on Sunday (11 July 2021).

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday earlier this week I commented (as Director of Scottish Salmon Watch):
"The SNP's lobbying on behalf of disease-ridden salmon farms is toxic politics at its very worst. Organic Sea Harvest is a sham, scam and consumer con. So-called 'organic' salmon farming is an oxymoron and a figment of the marketing men's toxic imagination. Shame on the Soil Association for allowing the lobster-killing chemical Deltamethrin to be used on organic salmon farms. Mass mortalities and lice infestations are already plaguing OSH's 'organic' operations and further expansion will only exacerbate the problem. 'Organic' Sea Harvest is merely a front for Dutch, Canadian and Norwegian investors who want to exploit Scotland's green and clean image. Consumers should boycott 'organic' salmon embalmed in toxic chemicals"
Ian Blackford MP Tweeted (2 July 2021):
I had the opportunity to spend today with Organic Sea Harvest at their two fish farms off the coast of Staffin in North Skye. I was very much impressed with their operation and the professionalism the company brings to producing organic salmon off the coast of Skye. pic.twitter.com/MQE2zRBwnm

Here's Ian Blackford's press release swooning over his visit.
Ian Blackford MP failed to mention the fact that 'Organic' Sea Harvest - shamefully certified as "organic" by the Soil Association - has been caught using a lobster-killing chemical.

Blackford's promotion of 'Organic' Sea Harvest led to a backlash on Facebook.
Inside Scottish Salmon Feedlots posted on Facebook (4 July 2021):
The Oban Times reported (10 July 2021):
Blackford is a staunch supporter of disease-ridden salmon farming on the Isle of Skye.
In November 2020, Scottish Salmon Watch revealed that 'Organic' Sea Harvest was owned by investors in the Netherlands, Canada and Norway.

In May 2021, Villa Seafood (the owners of Organic Sea Harvest) changed their name to Organic Sea Harvest Holdings Ltd in a filing with Companies House - the company is listed as being co-owned by Villa Seafood in Norway, DOM in Canada and Visscher Seafood in the Netherlands (all with over 25% but less than 50% shareholdings).

Scottish Salmon Watch revealed in March 2021 that 'Organic' Sea Harvest had reported disease and mass mortality problems at their Soil Association certified organic salmon farming operations (including 11,671 morts in one week in July/August 2020).

Here's 'Case Information' published by the Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate relating to an inspection of 'Organic' Sea Harvest's Invertote salmon farm in November 2020:
AGD is Amoebic Gill Disease and PGD is Proliferative Gill Disease (read more via "Gill Diseases: Scottish Salmon's Dirty Big Secret" and "Photo Dossier of Diseased, Deformed & Abused Scottish Salmon"). Alphamax is the trade name for the toxic chemical Deltamethrin - shown by peer-reviewed science to be lethal to shellfish and labelled by the chemical manufacturer as a 'Marine Pollutant'. An article - "The impact of anti-sea lice pesticides, azamethiphos and deltamethrin, on European lobster (Homarus gammarus) larvae in the Norwegian marine environment" - published in scientific journal Environmental Pollution in September 2020 reported:
Toxic 'Organic' Scamon - Why does @SoilAssociation allow 'organic' salmon farmers to use the toxic chemical Deltamethrin (shown by peer-reviewed science published in 2020 to be lethal to lobsters)? @SoilAssocScot @HelenBOrganic @jamescashmore @JoLewisSA https://t.co/2yerGjeTEi pic.twitter.com/sDGTilOWfN

It beggars belief that salmon doused in toxic chemicals and ridden with infectious diseases can be marketed as 'organic' and certified by the Soil Association.
