Tomorrow (24 March 2021) marks the launch of the documentary 'Seaspiracy' on Netflix which exposes global corruption in the fishing industry as well as lifting the lid (quite literally) on disease-ridden Scottish salmon.

The Courier reported (24 March 2021) on "The shocking revelations of Netflix’s new documentary on marine pollution" citing shocking video footage from Corin Smith of disease-ridden salmon at The Scottish Salmon Company in Loch Roag on the Isle of Lewis:
"The documentary, which comes out on Wednesday, March 24 promises to both shock your heart and your stomach," reported The Sun newspaper (17 March 2021).
Intrafish reported (5 March 2021):
Watch the trailer for Seaspiracy online here
Here's video footage shot by Scottish Salmon Watch at Mowi's Gorsten salmon farm in Loch Linnhe (similar to footage which may feature in 'Seaspiracy'):
And gruesome video footage of welfare abuse in Scottish salmon farms from photographer Corin Smith is expected to feature in 'Seaspiracy' (a follow up to 'Cowspiracy').
Scottish Salmon Watch estimate that over 40 million farmed salmon die in hatcheries and on sea cage salmon farms - that's a 50% mortality rate from hatch to 'catch':
Alexa, how many salmon die each year on Scottish salmon farms? 42 million* https://t.co/jRQzhheju6

Sadly we don't know for sure as the answer is deemed "commercially damaging" by @sspo!
Will @ScottishEPA & @marinescotland force disclosure? @salmon_scottish @rspcaassured pic.twitter.com/fua9nkM6g3
However, the salmon farming industry in Scotland which is 99% owned by foreign interests (predominantly Norwegian) has refused to provide data on numbers of dead salmon since 2012 (arguing in 2013 that publication would be "commercially damaging").
Censored: Salmon farmers in Scotland refuse to publish numbers of deaths as disclosure is "commercially damaging" https://t.co/FiaGuR3KoG

Yet Norway published 2020 data detailing 52 million deaths - why the double standard when Norway owns 80% of 'Scottish' salmon? @ScottishEPA pic.twitter.com/S6d45qnsTx
If you're looking for data on numbers of @rspcaassured dead farmed salmon in Scotland they don't exist - in 2013 @SSPOsays lobbied @ScottishEPA not to disclose mortalities as it was deemed commercially damaging! https://t.co/cDEyvS04dO @strathearnrose @salmon_scottish @scotgp pic.twitter.com/FICRbrpGXJ

The Sunday Mail reported on the "disease hell" on Scottish salmon farms back in November 2018:
Latvian TV also lifted the lid on disease-ridden Scottish salmon via an undercover program broadcast on 17 December 2018. The Latvian broadcast - via a program called 'Hidden Camera' - included a report from the top of one of Mowi's skips laden with disease-ridden farmed salmon:
Over two years later, Mowi's Gorsten salmon farm in Loch Linnhe is still experiencing problems. Inside Scottish Salmon Feedlots reported (1 March 2021):

Bryan Adams urges people to stop the reckless destruction of our oceans. Salmon farming cuts like a knife. This is torture, this is pain. Once wild salmon are gone they're gone.
