Photos slipped out last month by the Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate provide yet more damning evidence of welfare abuse on Scottish salmon farms.
The shocking welfare abuse captured on camera by the Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate contrasts with the glossy marketing by the Faroese/Norwegian-owned Scottish Salmon Company (previously controlled by a Ukrainian banker via an anonymous bank account registered at the Swiss stock exchange).
The Fish Health Inspectorate's 'Case Information' for February 2020 (not published online until 12 October 2020) includes details of an inspection of The Scottish Salmon Company's salmon farm at Kyles of Vuia in Loch Roag on the Isle of Lewis:
A letter from Marine Scotland to The Scottish Salmon Company dated 24 March 2020 detailed disease and mortality problems at Kyles of Vuia salmon farm:
In August 2020, The Ferret reported that The Scottish Salmon Company's salmon farm at Kyles of Vuia had been "reprimanded for feeding a toxic pesticide to fish twice as often as permitted and breaching a safety limit".
Read the Ferret article in full online here - including access to the FOI disclosure:
Data published via 'Scotland's Aquaculture' details Emamectin benzoate use in February 2020 at The Scottish Salmon Company's Kyles of Vuia salmon farm:
And in November 2019:
And in September 2019:
And in July 2019:
And in May 2019:
And in March 2019:
Mortality data published by the Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate in October 2020 reveals that The Scottish Salmon Company's Kyles of Vuia salmon farm in Loch Roag has reported 18 'Mortality Events' since 2017 totaling 157,032 dead salmon with Amoebic Gill Disease, complex gill issues, seal predation, treatment and Pancreas Disease listed as reasons for mortalities.
Please join the boycott against toxic and disease-ridden Scottish salmon!
The Scottish Salmon Company's marketing talks about their "pride" in Lochlander salmon which is "delivered to our Smokehouse on the wild and windswept Western Isles of Scotland".
When Scottish Salmon Watch has visited Strondoir Bay the Lochlander salmon we've videoed has not matched the pretty pictures in The Scottish Salmon Company's glossy brochures.
When Corin Smith filmed inside The Scottish Salmon Company's salmon farm at Vacasay in Loch Roag in August 2018 he found gruesome welfare abuse which was featured on the BBC One Show and BBC Panorama.
When Scottish Salmon Watch filmed inside The Scottish Salmon Company's salmon farm in Loch Shieldaig in June 2019 we discovered shocking scenes of welfare abuse which was featured by STV News and The Ferret.
Other photos published by the Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate reveal widespread welfare abuse at The Scottish Salmon Company:
Given the scale of welfare abuse, it is no wonder that lawyers for The Scottish Salmon Company attempted (unsuccessfully as it turned out) to prevent publication.
Scottish Salmon Watch reported in October 2019:

Here's photos leaked by a whistleblower in 2018 working for The Scottish Salmon Company at their facility at Toward near Dunoon in Argyll (the whistleblower was sick to the stomach at their poor welfare and hygiene standards):
