Official Scottish Government figures show Mowi has recovered zero out of 48,834 escapees (i.e. 0%!) @MowiScotlandLtd https://t.co/3hMTYTQb9V

How much will @GreenerScotland fine Mowi for failing to recapture escapees? @fms_scotland @FergusEwingMSP @strathearnrose £0.00? #Mowi pic.twitter.com/hzHpfYKhX7
As news emerges that escapees from Mowi's salmon farm in the Kilbrannan Sound (where 48,834 fish escaped in August 2020) are now being caught in English rivers, data published by Marine Scotland via 'Scotland's Aquaculture' shows that a big fat zero have been recovered by Norwegian-owned Mowi (formerly called Marine Harvest).
Whilst Mowi apparently does precious little to recapture the escapees, the genetic pollutants are now turning up in English rivers.

What diseases & viruses do they have? @marinescotland @strathearnrose
Mowi reported another escape of 73,684 salmon from their farm off Colonsay in January 2020 - with zero escaped fish reported as recovered.
Zero escapees were officially reported as recovered after 23,970 fish escaped from Mowi's Hellisay salmon farm in October 2019:
And zero escapees were officially reported as recovered when another 24,752 salmon escaped from Mowi's Hellisay site in December 2018.
When 16,000 farmed salmon escaped from Mowi's Carradale site in Kilbrannan Sound in June 2015, zero fish were officially reported as recovered.
When 10,775 farmed salmon escaped from Mowi's freshwater site in Loch Lochy at least 1,000 escapees were reported as recovered with efforts described as "ongoing".
Mowi's appalling track record in Scotland recapturing/recovering escapees contrasts with a legal requirement in Chile to recapture 10% of escapees.
In Chile, a company has 30 days to recover 10% of their escaped salmon @sernapesca https://t.co/AhLXqdAEqC In Scotland, the recapture rate of escapees from sea cages is less than 0.1% & there's NEVER been a fine! @MowiScotlandLtd @strathearnrose @FergusEwingMSP @marinescotland

Mowi's policy of 'zero fish escapes' is clearly not working but it seems in Scotland, at least, it's policy of zero escapees recovered is working extremely well. Fish Farming Expert reported in June 2016:
Whilst the Scottish Government's actions - or lack of them - rate a big fat zero it seems that the Norwegian and Chilean Government are tightening the net on polluters allowing escapes.
