Scotland's toxic salmon farming industry is fighting back (literally) against the use of the controversial carcinogenic chemical Formaldehyde (Formalin). Scottish Salmon Watch understands that a salmon farm worker for Kames Fish Farming assaulted a local resident on Loch Tralaig at ca. 10am on Saturday (22 August 2020) for having the temerity to ask questions about diseased salmon and the use of toxic chemicals. The Kames employee who was caught on camera is believed to be Gregor Maclellan who was charged later that morning by Police Scotland (assault, breach of the peace and vandalism are believed to be the criminal charges levied against the Kames worker who features in a "new brand identity" launched earlier this year by Kames).
"You cunt - I will fucking murder the fuck out of you," says the Kames employee as he attacks a local resident and smashes his phone (you can see the containers of carcinogenic Formaldehyde in the truck behind him in the shocking video footage). "You fucking film me again I will fuck you up you cunt. Fuck off. You fucking arsehole."
Here's video footage and commentary from 24 August 2020:

Here's previous video footage of the use of Formaldehyde by Kames in October 2019 which their employees are so desperate to hide from the public.

And here's more recent Tweets revealing how Kames is gearing up for another chemical assault on Loch Tralaig during 2020.

These are the Oxygen tanks going out today. This is used when treating with Formaldehyde. This means yet again the daily barrage is in full force. The fumes start at 8 am and linger on till at least 8pm. This is appalling. Anyone wants to come and witness this drop me a line pic.twitter.com/i83ceDFpng

Here's Gregor Maclellan pictured with other "motley crew" at Kames on their Facebook page.
And again pictured here with a bottle of beer along with Kames owner Stuart Cannon:
Gregor Maclellan is a graduate of Glasgow University according to his Facebook profile.
In view of the assault charges against the Kames employee, it is embarrassing to see Gregor's face used to promote Kames in their recent re-branding.
What an apt poster child to promote the toxic salmon farming industry!
Scottish Salmon Watch understands that the other man appearing in the video - who watched the assault and failed to intervene - was Kames Fish Farming manager Paul Luckhoff.
When Scottish Salmon Watch visited Kames in July 2020, Paul Luckhoff told us off camera that Kames would NOT be using Formaldehyde in Loch Tralaig and were re-focusing production away at other Kames sites (believed to be in Loch Avich).
Photo: Kames Fish Farming manager Paul Luckhoff (right) with Kames employee Gregor Maclellan (left)
Paul Luckhoff was on site feeding the farmed salmon when Scottish Salmon Watch filmed at Kames last month - he told us the farmed salmon in Loch Tralaig were destined for Grieg Seafood in Shetland.
You're unlikely to see video footage of the assault or the use of carcinogenic chemicals on Kames's Facebook page, web-site or Twitter page.
Kames is owned and controlled by award-winning Stuart Cannon (an Englishman who grew up on an arable farm in Lincolnshire).
On their web-site, Kames trumpet their environmental and welfare credentials (including RSPCA certification) claiming that "We take our standards of fish welfare, husbandry and environmental impact extremely seriously, and are proud to be accredited with the highest standards in the industry".
Scottish Salmon Watch is calling on Kames to stop using toxic chemicals and to stop employees assaulting locals daring to expose the use of carcinogenic Formaldehyde. Kames claims on their web-site to have a "strong family ethos and community spirit".
Scottish Salmon Watch wonders if shareholders in Kames - including the controlling interest Stuart Cannon - support the "community spirit" dished out by employees of Kames.
Here's shareholders in Kames as listed by Companies House in 2015 including James Edward Hugh Gray Gully (Alastair Douglas Stacey Rolland died in 2016), Catherine Waldermar Brown (who is the daughter of the 4th Viscount Selby) and the Trustees of Lord Selby (the peerage was created in 1905 for the Liberal politician Sir William Court Gully upon his retirement as Speaker of the House of Commons):
And listed by Companies House in 2012:
Another Gully was appointed Director of Kames in 2017:
According to Cracrofts Peerage: "The heir presumptive to the Viscountcy of Selby is Hon James Edward Hugh Grey Gully, 2nd son of the 3rd Viscount Selby and great-uncle of the present Viscount".
What does the Gully/Selby family think about Kames dragging their name down into the gutter?
Moreover the legality of Kames's operations in Loch Tralaig and Loch Avich were questioned in a blog by retired lawyer Ewan Kennedy (23 August 2020):
Scottish Salmon Watch understands that SEPA's Benedict Tustin (the person who led SEPA's bungled "investigation" into the use of Formaldehyde by Kames in Loch Tralaig) is closely tied to Kames Fish Farming. Benedict's brother-in-law is Eoghan Macinnes (brother of his wife, Angela Tustin) who works for Kames.
