"As activists continue to sidestep the democratic process in favour of interrupting work spaces, governments must step up to protect the health and safety of employees working within the laws of the country," writes Mowi Scotland's Director of Communications in Fish Farmer magazine (16 January 2020).
What Mowi's spin doctor failed to mention are the health and safety failures by the salmon farming industry. When Scottish Salmon Watch visited Mowi's salmon farm in Loch Alsh 'Special Area of Conservation' in November 2019, Mowi workers acted recklessly in endangering health and safety by ramming a kayak, unclipping a kayak tied safely to the farm and kicking a paddle into the water.
Scottish Salmon Watch filed a formal complaint against Mowi (they changed their name from Marine Harvest in 2019 due to negative consumer perception) with the Health & Safety Executive and the Maritime & Coastguard Agency on 15 November 2019.

Perversely, the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation (of which Mowi is the leading member) Tweeted shortly after Mowi's health and safety violations in Loch Alsh.
Earlier that morning Scottish Salmon Watch obtained gruesome photos of the rotting corpses and freshly diseased mortalities littering Mowi's land-base at Ardintoul:
No wonder Mowi want the general public to leave their farms alone.
After viewing photos taken by the Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate on a visit to Ardintoul in 2016 it's abundantly clear why Mowi don't want the public knowing the horrific truth about salmon farming.

Here's photos of Mowi's farmed salmon at Port Na Cro and Poll Na Gille (published by the Scottish Government's Fish Health Inspectorate on 19 December 2019):
When Scottish Salmon Watch visited Mowi's operations in the Sound of Jura in September 2019, Mowi workers were guilty of reckless navigation, intimidation and harassment.

Mowi's menacing tactics in Scotland are similar to the surveillance, intimidation and harassment employed by Mowi in Canada.

Or the threatening behaviour of Police Scotland who in July 2019 were caught acting as private security for Norwegian-owned salmon farms.
On 12 September 2019, Scottish Salmon Watch wrote to the Maritime & Coastguard Agency expressing serious concerns with respect to the reckless behaviour of Mowi (over four months later we have still not received a reply).
In August and July 2019, Scottish Salmon Watch wrote to the Health & Safety Executive, Police Scotland, the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and other agencies proposing guidelines for filming with respect to salmon farms (thus far there has been no reply).
In August 2019, Mowi's salmon farm at Ardgour in Loch Linnhe was the subject of a complaint to the Health & Safety Executive following filming in July 2019 by Scottish Salmon Watch.
Mowi's health and safety record around the world is shocking. In 2016, Mowi Scotland was fined £5,000 after a worker lost the tops of four fingers.
In 2009, the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet reported on deaths of workers in Chile (before 1 January 2019 Mowi was named Marine Harvest).

Salmon Business reported in March 2019:
In a letter to Mowi's CEO Alf Helge-Aarskog in 2012 I wrote:
The stench from Mowi's operations in Scotland is also leaving a bad smell and giving the company (re-named from Marine Harvest in 2019 despite objections from the Mowinckel family) an ever-escalating PR problem.
