Channel 5 News reported (17 June 2019) on "furious" local opposition to The Scottish Salmon Company's expansion plans on the Isle of Arran:
"They're open cages so everything is released to the sea, wild fish interact with them, diseases gets passed on, pollution passes out, so that's the fundamental issue," said Paul Chandler of Community Arran Seabed Trust (COAST).
Watch video footage captured by Scottish Salmon Watch of wild fish (probably juvenile herring or sprats) swimming INSIDE the salmon farm operated by The Scottish Salmon Company in Lamlash Bay (within a Marine Protected Area) on the Isle of Arran earlier this month (9 June 2019).
Channel 5 News captured a reluctant Fergus Ewing (Scotland's Fisheries Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Rural Economy) on camera as he came out of a heated meeting on Arran:
Scottish Salmon Watch also published photos from inside The Scottish Salmon Company's Lamlash Bay salmon farm showing lice-infestion (9 June 2019):
