The Press & Journal (19 January) reports on how "Marine Harvest withdrew controversial plans for a new farm at a Skye beauty spot".
Arthur Sevstre of Skye's Group Against Unsustainable Fish Farming said the withdrawal was welcome and "the people's voices have been heard".

An Editorial also addressed "the victory for people power". "Locals had every right to fight to protect picturesque Loch Slapin - whether it was welcome that activists from Norway and Canada jumped aboard the wider campaign against what is, after all, an extremely important industry is a moot point."
